Leak! Samsung Galaxy S8, set for March 29 launch
MWC has seen a lot of smartphone launches from OEM's like Nokia, LG, Huawei, Motorolaand Sony. But the device everyone is waiting for with bated breath, the one with the a barrage of hype and expectations behind it will be officially unveiled not during MWC but at an event on March 29 in New York.
The device we are talking about is the Samsung Galaxy S8 and thanks to legendary tipster Evan Blass, we now have a press render of the device showcasing it in its full glory. He posted the render on Twitter with the caption "I think this is what you've been waiting for".
While it is unclear whether the device in the picture is the Samsung Galaxy S8 or its bigger brother, the Galaxy S8+, both smartphones are expected to sport the same design with the only major difference being the screen size.
We have known for some time that the upcoming Galaxy S8 will sport a radical near bezel-less design with dual curved edges and the image confirms the same.
The image also confirms the fact that Samsung is ditching the home button in the upcoming smartphone.
Apart from the volume rocker, the device looks to have two separate physical buttons. While one is most definitely the power button, the other could be a dedicated button for Samsung's upcoming AI intelligence based voice assistant codenamed 'Bixby'.

Additionally, the listing discloses that the device will come with IP68 dust and water resistance, Samsung Knox, Samsung Pay, Wireless Charging, 4G LTE support and will come bundled with earphones tuned by AKG.
The device will feature a 5.8' Quad HD Super AMOLED display alongside an Iris scanner, which was first introduced in the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7.
The Galaxy S8+ is set to come with the exact same specifications as the S8 but with a much bigger 6.2 screen.
Samsung also released a short video teasing the upcoming smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. While the video doesn't really reveal anything substantial, it does confirm the fact that the devices will come bundled with AKG headphones.
Samsung also proclaimed that the S8 "represents the start of a new era, by reshaping the device that has over the years become an indispensable tool in our everyday lives."
Samsung needs the upcoming Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones to be embraced warmly by customers after its reputation took a big dent due to the Galaxy Note 7 debacle and the recent arrest of their CEO on bribery and embezzlement charges.
